Personally, I use terraria.wiki.gg for researching Terraria as this is less laggy and bloated than Fandom.

I used to use the Fandom Wiki, but ever since joining the forums and mentioning that I had used it, people told me to switch over to the wiki.gg one.

I used to use the old Fandom version from 2015 while Terraria was in the then-new update version 1.3.0.1 since then and it was straight forward and hella different.

I have used it in celebration of when the wiki.gg post on Terraria news (forgot where) was introduced as I hated how Fandom looked and I was trying to avoid Fandom as much as possible now.

I remember the gamepedia times before Fandom screwed it all over.

And then it became worse afterwards, including obviously incorrect AI answers to show that AI shouldn't be used to beat the game.

I use whichever pops up first. I have been trying to not use fandom lately because fandom is the worst when it comes to their "business" practices. like they wont let people move off of it and if they do, then they make people who dont actually know the game do the wiki stuff for it and it winds up an outdated mess

Basically, I try to look for something that ISN'T fandom for a game when google searching the wiki pages for a particular game, and use that instead, if possible. Provided it's near the top of the results, that is.

Fandom has been around much longer than wiki.gg, so that's not surprising. That's just how SEO works.

If people make a concerted effort to use wiki.gg, then that will change over time and wiki.gg will become preferred over Fandom.

There are several ways to do this:

  • Use the WIki link at the top of every forum page, and search from there
  • Add 'wiki.gg' to your search term
  • Use a browser extension to redirect to wiki.gg: Redirect to wiki.gg

I wonder how Fandom is bad for the environment, eh? I know it can pay even the highest end of PCs.

It's because the fandom one is no longer supported and is heavily outdated and full of misinformation

never ever directly use the first link since there often may be an ad or a virus

Who uses the Fandom Wiki anymore? (23)ing Fandom… even the pages are messed up on the iOS website, it keeps taking me back to the very top each time I go into the bottom portions of the page. It’s a buggy, glitchy, and increment garbage dump, non-mobile friendly mess of a website.
