Serpico

Top 5 Best & Strongest Characters in Berserk
Serpico is unlocked fairly late in Berserk and the Band of the Hawk’s story mode. While he’s available as an ally relatively early on, it’s not until he is granted the Sylph Sword by Schierke and Flora that he becomes available for use by the player. Once you finally get a chance to take control of Serpico, though, you may become a bit upset that you had to wait so long, because he’s one of the absolute best characters to use in the game.
He’s fast, but that’s not what makes him such a standout, as he’s not the only fighter who’s quick on his feet. It’s his control over the wind thanks to his Sylph Sword that makes him a beast on the battlefield. He can juggle multiple enemies at once in mini tornadoes while he focuses his melee attention elsewhere. His ability to keep enemies at bay in this fashion makes running through the Endless Eclipse with him a fun endeavor rather than a slog through repeated layers. Even better is when you trigger his Frenzy Mode, which allows him to use only the Sylph Sword for all attacks rather than his regular blade.
Schierke
Top 5 Best & Strongest Characters in Berserk
Schierke is unlocked at the same time as Serpico, and she’s also a joy to play with. She may be cute in appearance and very small in stature, but she’s actually a very powerful witch. Trained by Flora, she relies on nature to pull of powerful ranged attacks that utilize all of the elements. This gives her great crowd control even though you do have to pay attention to her distance from enemies. She has slow casting time on heavy attacks, but they’re worth it when they succeed.
To help her keep aggressive enemies at bay, she can summon golems to her side to fight for her. These powerful, stone creatures will keep enemies back and even draw attention. Being able to send in strong soldiers while also pulling off wicked spells is nothing to scoff at and it helps cement Schierke asone of the most versatile and powerful characters in Berserk and the Band of the Hawk.
Zodd – Apostle
Top 5 Best & Strongest Characters in Berserk
Zodd is unlocked fairly on in Berserk and the Band of the Hawk. He’s a master swordsman and one of the Apostles you’ll have to face during the story. He’s powerful in his more human form, there’s no question about that, but things change drastically when he transforms into his Apostle form which is a giant, bull-like demon.
Even better is the fact that you can unlock that Apostle form to be permanent, letting you play as the powerful bull who is very difficult to stagger and can tear through most opponents with ease. You’ll have to beat Layer 100 in the Endless Eclipse using Zodd, but trust us, it’s worth it.
Femto
Top 5 Best & Strongest Characters in Berserk
Femto is the newest member of the God Hand and one of the most, if notthemost, powerful characters you can use in Berserk. It’s actually another form of Griffith that he can turn into when using the Band of the Hawk Reborn skin, but you can also unlock the ability to play as Femto without having to transform. To do so, you’ll have to complete all 60 Desires in the Endless Eclipse, which is no small task as it requires a minimum 300 layers, although you may have to play a few more if the Desires you need don’t pop up. Completing it all will grant you the Wings of Darkness outfit for Griffith which allows you to play as Femto
In exchange, you get unfettered access to this demon king who can slow down enemies, control gravity, and decimate anything on the screen. Even his basic attacks clear out entire crowds, something most characters aren’t capable of doing.
Guts – The Beast of Darkness
Top 5 Best & Strongest Characters in Berserk
Guts has a lot of outfits in Berserk and the Band of the Hawk, but the best one is clearly the Berserker Armor which allows him to be overcome by a beast, granting him incredible speed and power. Taking the strongest character in the game and giving him the ability to move around like Serpico, Judeau, or Griffith makes for one hell of a fighter. However, when using the Berserker Armor, this form is limited by your Frenzy Meter.
You can gain unlimited access to the intoxicating speed and power, though, by unlocking the Beast of Darkness outfit. You just have to complete Layer 100 of the Endless Eclipse using Guts. You’ll then be able to run around the battlefield like a madman, cutting down anything in your path. You will have to trade in your ability to use a horse, but who needs horses when you’re an actual beast of darkness?
